Company
History of FMB
FMB operates its production headquarters and main offices within the WISTA Science and Technology Park at Adlershof, located in the south-eastern region of Berlin, Germany.
Since October 2007, FMB Oxford, formerly known as the Oxford Instruments Synchrotron Division, has become an integral part of our company.
Since it was founded in the autumn of 1990, FMB has evolved into a highly successful provider of advanced equipment for synchrotron radiation research.
FMB Capabilities
We offer comprehensive management throughout the entire development, engineering, production, testing, and installation processes—all from a single, streamlined source.
Our innovative and reliable products are built upon analyses and physical calculations, including optical ray tracing, strength and thermal load calculations, utilizing the latest computer science methodologies.
Manufacturing Technologies
Within our 4,000 square meter office and production space, FMB employs state-of the art design and manufacturing technologies to develop and manufacture a diverse range of components and systems for synchrotron storage rings. And it also has sophisticated testing facilities at its highly efficient production plants. Specializing in complete vacuum systems, storage rings, front-ends, and beamlines for synchrotron radiation and free electron laser, these areas represent the core of our business.
As technology advances, we adapt to increasingly specialized equipment needs arising from various methods in research and industry. And especially for vacuum chambers with NEG-coating, monochromators, slit systems, mirror systems and diagnostics, FMB is your partner when it comes to competence and efficiency.
The development and production of custom equipment and components for other ultra-high vacuum applications and for precision mechanics are also considered to be among the company’s other main business areas.
Our team of engineers and technicians consistently embrace new challenges, pushing the boundaries of technical feasibility.
Getting internationally-respected experts actively and heavily involved in the development and testing of our products ensures access to the latest scientific findings and also a good understanding of the our customer’s need.
Production is conducted at our own facilities or through reliable cooperation partners, with constant supervision by the responsible FMB project manager.
